Blue Note

This kitchen renovation maintained the original footprint but upgraded the space into a stylish cook’s dream. An oversized island was removed to allow for a well-designed floor plan with designated areas for cooking and casual dining. The first island, with a sleek waterfall edge, is used for prepping, refrigeration drawers, counter seating for four, and storage, with the second island, painted in Benjamin Moore Blue Note, providing additional storage, refrigeration drawers, and a custom, curved, integrated banquette for elegant yet comfortable family dining. A Galley Workstation sink maximizes the workspace by utilizing the area for food prep, clean up, drying dishes, and entertaining. An appliance garage to the right of the range conceals a microwave and air fryer, while a second countertop cabinet houses a coffee station. The Santorini Quartzite provides a soothing palette of soft blues, white, and greys in both islands, the single-slab backsplash, and custom hood. White quartz was selected for the durable perimeter countertops, with polished nickel hardware. The desk area on a long wall has a utility cabinet for printer/paper storage, Dyson vacuum charging, and cleaning products. The white quartz counters and floating shelves mirror the kitchen counters to unify the two areas. The bar area features a Santorini Quartzite counter, with high-gloss cabinetry in the same blue as the kitchen island. The space houses a wine fridge, ice maker, and storage cabinetry, with open glass shelving to display glassware.
