An avid cook wanted to bring sophistication, formality, and flair to the kitchen and butler’s pantry in her newly purchased English Tudor home. The goal was to brighten the space through contrasting accents and unique elements. The customized Bluestar hood in high-gloss black enamel with polished brass strapping and coordinating range delivers bold drama and a stunning focal point. The Panda marble’s strong black veins used for the countertops create a natural flow and unity throughout the large space, complimented by the gleaming Dolomite and brass subway tile that rises to the ceiling. The Panda marble continues in the expansive island with a layout accommodating seating for two, in addition to a large sink and ample storage. Polished brass hardware and accents shine throughout, from the Waterstone plumbing fixtures, including a pot filler to the cabinet hardware, door inserts, and light fixtures, elevating the room throughout. Paneled Gaggenau refrigerator and freezer columns, flanked by two tall pantries with brass grille inserts, create a dramatic wall of tall cabinetry that rounds the corner with a concealed message center/charging station for phones and devices. The space is balanced with tall counter cabinets used for storage and a retractable breakfast bar. A pastoral-themed garden mural depicting key features of the property defines the eating area and brings the outdoor mood indoors.
