The owners of this home wanted to maximize their storage, so they incorporated deep drawers with adjustable dowels in the island that snugly hold a variety of plates & bowls. By placing a shallow, two-burner cooktop in the island’s stone countertop he was able to slip in additional drawer space beneath it. They also opened up the island with display shelves at one end and an eating counter at the other. The design team created storage wherever they could, such as in this floor-to-ceiling cabinet that combines pantry and display space.
With elegant linear profiles, plenty of surface work space, inventive storage solutions, rich woods and unusual materials such as amber glass on some cabinets, the results are striking.
