DEANE WINS LUXURY KITCHEN RECYCLING AWARD FROM RENOVATION ANGEL

On January 22nd, 2020 the first annual Luxury Kitchen Recycling Awards (LKRA) commenced on the KBIS NeXT Stage in Las Vegas, Nevada. The awards competition was free to enter and open to all kitchen designers, architects, contractors, interior designers and other industry professionals making sustainable renovation practices a part of their toolkit. Industry professionals submitted projects where at least 50% of the existing materials were recycled or donated, and projects must have been completed between January 1, 2017, and October 31, 2019.

George Oliphant of NBC’s Emmy award-winning show, George to the Rescue, served as emcee and head judge, along with several other top industry professionals including kitchen designers Kimball Derrick and Nancy Young, CKBD; Nina Elliott Green, a member of NKBA’s inaugural Thirty Under 30 Class of 2013, and Michael Foti, Regional Sales Manager of Miele USA.

“I am honored to have our work recognized by Renovation Angel,” said Peter Deane, DEANE, Inc Principal. “We have been a supporter of Renovation Angel for over 15 years. Our clients value and appreciate that they offer removal solutions that have a significant environmental impact in addition to financial benefits and tax benefits. Over 60% of DEANE projects are leveraged for Renovation Angel and we are proud of our efforts in luxury recycling. Often our clients are replacing kitchens that are still perfectly serviceable, so Renovation Angel is the perfect partner to help divert millions of pounds of kitchen cabinets, bath fixtures, home furnishings, and architectural elements from landfills.”
