This new construction project was a designer’s dream. The owners were driven by a bold design aesthetic and wanted to layer materials, colors, and textures beyond a typical white kitchen. Mixed metals, brushed and stainless steel accents, and moody colors all contribute to the industrial, laid-back feel.
Anchoring the room is a custom blackened stainless steel hood that frames the Wolf Dual Fuel range and adjoining 15” wide induction cooktop. It features different levels of burnished stainless steel trim and “Cartier Screw” rivet detailing. Dark Allure Quartzite was selected for the island countertop, with storage on one side, and exposed legs cuffed in burnished stainless on the other side to match the hood, allowing for casual seating
The Shaker-style cabinetry was painted a custom griege to lend subtle warmth. The recessed ceiling feature with exposed wood beams adds color and depth, reflecting the island below. Paneled appliances lend a soothing effect, while the burnished brass hardware and plumbing fixtures add shine. A welcoming coffee station with retractable doors has stained red oak interiors to match the island finish. The vertical, hand-painted Moroccan trapezoid Zelige tile backsplash shimmers against the durable, textured leatherized black Lido Granite perimeter countertops, whose custom farmhouse sink in the same material blends seamlessly for a continuous look.
The butler’s pantry, accessed as a pass-through from the kitchen to the dining room, features bright cabinetry in Hail Navy blue, 2” Ajen Blue Quartzite countertops with dramatic blue and gold veining and with a matching backsplash, second sink, wine refrigeration unit, coordinating burnished brass hardware and hidden appliances for entertaining.
