Recently chosen as an A-List 2024 winner for kitchen design, DEANE’s Nantucket Native project, designed by Pete Deane, was showcased in Ocean Home Magazine’s October/November 2024 issue. We were pleased to collaborate with the teams at Nina Liddle Design, Hehir Group Custom Builders, Bottocelli & Pohl Architects, and Jane Beiles Photography and could not be more proud of the results.

When a cherry picker reveals a sight-line straight out to the sea, a couple commissions a Nantucket home that takes advantage of pastoral and coastal views. The owners, who split their time between Nantucket and a Manhattan suburb, asked for a clean, modern design. While the house boasts hallmarks of traditional Nantucket style, including cedar shingle, siding, dormers and gabled roofs, it also has lots of glass.

“The homeowners’ vision for the kitchen was a feeling of informal luxury that wasn’t too beachy,” says Pete Deane, Principal of DEANE, Inc. “Taj Mahal Quartzite slabs set against crisp, bleached rift-cut, white oak cabinetry is nuanced and airy, while the island’s reeded base and pantry’s caned panels inject coastal flavor.”
